Instanced Zone
Each player or group that enters an Instanced Zone, they are in their own version of that zone. Players in an Instanced Zone will not see any other groups that might be in other copies of the zone. Usually, MOBs killed in an instance do not spawn again; it is therefore possible to clear out all MOBS from an instanced zone. If a player or group leave and then reenter an instanced zone it will reset to its original configuration.
Kiting
A combat tactic where characters able to do damage at a distance - typically with ranged weapons or spells - stays out of melee range of the mob by running from it while damaging it
KoS
Kill On Sight
A mob is KoS if it will attack a player who comes within range. KoS mobs have their con information outlined in red.
L & L
Legend and Lore
A class of quests in which the player gets updates by killing a certain creature type. The rewards for the quest are a book on that creature type and a house item. The updates are of two types; body part items that are actual drops and automatic updates. The former type need to be examined for the update to occur, which consumes the item; these items can be collected and stored without the quest. The latter type of update only occur if the quest is active.
LU
Live Update
A Live Update is a set of changes to the game which may include new features as well as changes and fixes (See Nerf) to existing content. Between Live Updates, Sony will also released fixes (also called patches)
Each Live Update has a number, so LU13 was the thirteenth Live Update since the game was launched.
Main
A player’s main character, either the highest level or the one which is currently being played the most.
Mez
Mesmerise
A spell which holds a mob in place by mesmerising them. The spell will break if damage is dealt
MMORPG
Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game
The generic term used to describes games such as Everquest 2 in which large number of players log onto servers and interact by playing the role of a character. The Massively Multiplayer distinguishes these from games that allowed a few dozen players to connect to a single instance.
Mob
An NPC creature that the players are able to fight. The term comes from early precursors of MMORPG called MUDS, where it stood for Mobile Objects.
MT
Main Tank
The member of a group who performs the role of tank. The tank is the player who attempts to keep the Mobs’ hate upon themselves, whilst other members of the group deliver the damage. Groups may have a secondary tank that will perform the role if the Main Tank is unable to do so, or the situation requires more than one tank.
